Hello.
I have a Wireless Book that flashes a bright white screen and then only displays "Wireless Book" nothing else. It does not shutdown when I hold in the power button. The only way to turn it off is to disconnect the battery. It does charge the battery although the dc connector is sensitive.

I toook it apart to check for any loose connections or obvious problems and did not find any.

It has an ANYKA chip AK8802TQ21604, FS01K10. It has a Trontech chip.

The manual is useless and I could not find any instructions to help.

I do not have the correct soldering tools to do any major repairs and would like to know if there are any procedures I could attempt or if I should stop wasting time on it.

Thank you.

Just run the burntool_ak88_v2.exe

Is this where I follow the procedure, short out the two holes on the motherboard and try to boot to a USB stick?

No, you short the pins and connect by straight(simple) USB cable to PC and then run the tool. It doesn't support booting from USB.

Instruction and tool here [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
You need to short DL_JUMPer, plug USB male-male to PC and Book, install driver M3CHIP-USB.
Then run burntool and load firmware if you have it. (wrong FW can brick your device)

Haven't had a chance to try the original procedure yet.
Does the burntool_ak88_v2.exe contain the FW?
Would any of the FW on the referenced page work on my machine?
Thanks

no the burntool is only program for flashing, firmware is ROM(nboot, eboot, XIP)

I appreciate your help and am sorry to keep bothering you, but that means that there is still no solution for the Wireless Book I have since there is no WinCE 6.0 file to flash with?
And I assume that a WinCE 5.0 file would not work?

WinCE 5.0 should work but there is no burntool for AK8802 CPU available. The burntool_ak88_v2 is just hacked ak7802 burntool which unfortunatley doesn't work.

Thanks. That's how I understood your previous post, but hope stays alive.

I do not have ak88 device for test so I have no idea why my hacked burntool doesn't work. Maybe someone with ak88 can try to hack for himself as I have provided all details.

Mine's doing no good as it is. Point me to the directions and let me know if there's anything special to look for and report on.

I succesfuly reflashed software, but still can't turn it on. It displays only horizontal bars without backlight. Is it dead?

maybe it is a hardware issue and not software

I suppose. I'll throw it in the bin.
